Few meters out of Vathy, you will find Dexa beach.  It is know to be the ancient port of Phorcys, the beach that Odysseus arrived on Ithaca after his 10 years of wandering.  Peadle beach with shallow water,surrounded with olive trees & a beach bar and sunbeds/umbrellas makes it ideal for families with children.
